some people
shake their fingers
at others and
call them
negative.
but the
allegations
are false.
they're not negative,
they're down.
if every time life
threw you a bone
and it was swatted away
as quickly as it was given,
you'd be down too.
some people only see
light when there are shadows
cast in all the likely places.
some only see black when
there's moonlight through
the folds.
in the darkest night, there's
always a pinprick of light.
up or down, it's better to stay level,
right in the middle,
hoping to see both the good and bad
in every situation.
we're all shades of grey.
