what we are

all things contain light.
whether you believe
it or not does not take
away from the truth.

an emotion,
an understanding
resides in all
living things-
from all things
under the sky
and below the
dirt and within
the oceans-
inside and
outside of
ourselves.

we are containers
of light,
systematically
enduring the
flames and
the floods
and the
fierce fists
of our
brothers
and
sisters,
striving forward
to a brighter light.

we are in this now,
bending to the troubles
that bind us to
this. right now
is all there is.

we are blind,
looking for truth
wherever it may hide.
we are deaf
to the sounds
that come at us
from all around.
we are never ending
as we await our next turn.
and there simply is not
enough time to waste
outside of the moment.

help when help can
be provided.
love when love
is all there is.
give freely and
let not the times
trouble you anymore.

it is a right
to remain
healthy.

it is a right
to gain
knowledge.

it is a right
to love
freely.

it is a right
to believe
what you
will.

it is a right
to question
those who
rule
you.

it is a right
to be fed
and to grow
and to live in this
right now.

it is a right.
it is our
liberty.
it is our
humanity
in all of this
and we should
not expect
anything
less.

we are the
light
that shines
most vivid,
illuminating
the wrongs
that can be
made
right.
