the system is demented,
a black eye on a society
too afraid of being bullied
again
too afraid to lose
when winning
isn't an option

we are set up to fail,
shown pretty pictures
with a gun at the back
of our skulls

because, you see,
those who have
all the money in the world
don't want to lose a nickel
and they're sure as hell
not going to give you
an advantage

all you can hope for
is that the dementia
doesn't get you too
if you happen to get lucky
and find
a crack in the dam
by which you can let
the flood gates open
and drown us all
in the water we've
paid for all along
